Book Synopsis | 12 February 2021
"Oh alas, alas! The gold will now turn back to sand. There are miles of sun and sand and nowhere to go. There is sickness and sadness and nowhere to go. There is anger and betrayal and nowhere to go....But go you must...for the time has come to face your fate....you cannot fight what is already destined...."
So sang the mystic. Two hundred years later, the abandoned village of Kuldhara lies waiting even today for news of those who had lived and loved and lost everything there.
What drove those people to leave their beautiful homes and abundant fields one night? Where did they go? What happened to them? This story begins where history has no more answers.
This is a tale of one village and its angst. It is the story of a proud people and their honour. And it is also the story of two women, Pari and Parvati, from disparate worlds, and yet tied together by their destinies. As their lives swing between love and hate, passion and tenderness, pain and joy, they begin to find strength within. But will they find happiness? Will they find peace at last?
